personal responsibility

I think that personal responsibility is knowing that I am obligated to do something without anyone else having to tell me to do so. Or knowing when i am responsible for something whether its a bad or a good thing.  Personal responsibility can also be defined by knowing that I have to do something for MYSELF, for either my survival or my sanity. That is responsibility because i am responsible for myself.
i think that when something bad happens that involves me i have a gut feeling that tells me that i have to take on responsibility. for example, when my papa got sick and had to stay in the hospital. I knew in my heart that i was responsible for helping my grandma out. No one had to tell me that i had to take care of her, i did it because i knew it was my responsibility.

exploration

Christopher Columbus set off to explore the new world, Mary Kingsley explored Africa, and Neil Armstrong explored the moon. I believe that these people devoted their life to exploring for the satisfaction of being the first person to do it. Exploring the unknown comes with numerous sacrifices. Such as, leaving behind their homes and families, and leaving everything behind, not knowing if they will make it back.
